Studies on Cytotoxic and Genotoxic potential of Ethanolic extract of Lawsonia inermis leaves

Lawsonia inermis is widely known as henna and belongs to Lythraceae family. It contains various phytochemica constituents in every part of plant shows pharmacological properties. Secondary metabolites are acts antioxidants these very high this species. In research studies, ethanolic extract was performed the blood sample culture for cytotoxicity genotoxicity effects. The both effects extracts were evaluated through measurement mitotic index (MI), sister chromatid exchanges (SCE) cell proliferation kinetics (CPK). treated with control concentrations (500μg/ml 1000μg/ml). mean MI, SCE CPK found be 4.51, 5.19 0.52 respectively where 500μg/ml 4.33, 4.87 0.50 1000 μg/ml 4.18, 4.68 0.48 respectively. From results, we can conclude that MI frequency SCES remarkably similar which indicates have no substantial cultured lymphocytes.
